DME in bulk

Since I switched to using DME I was thinking about buying some in bulk because of how expensive it is at my LHS. Anyone else at HBT buy DME in bulk and where do you get it from?

I get my bulk DME from midwestsupplies.com.

I've heard that Austin Homebrew charges a small shipping charge, but their DME is costlier than MWS.

sorry to hijack a little bit... but does anyone know how long DME is usable for or does it not really go bad?

i think if kept dry and in a cool dark place it lasts for a year or two, I know liquid extract can darken and cause some flavor changes if it gets to be that old

If you have any brew on premise places (aka u-brew), they will often sell you top quality bulk LME from there barrels.

The bulk DME (55#) is usually good for about 2 years, but I go through about 4 a year!
