I just built this cheese press in about 20 minutes.:rockin:

I used cull wood from DIY mega store, some metal braces, a garden gate hinge, and plain old wood screws. Total cost ~$12. I cut a notch to hold the weights on and marked distances for 1.5, 2, and 3 times the end weight for pressing. I also cut a few different length pressing bars for different sized cheeses. I'm gonna pick up some used exercise weights for both ends (needs a counterbalance, heh) but for now some water jugs will work.

Nice! I've been looking for some good, homebrewer-type solutions to assembling my own cheesemaking equipment. Unfortunately, the cheesemakers don't seem to be as into DIY as the homebrewers are.
