I'd like to cut one dip tube to use when using one of my kegs as a secondary, any suggestions on how much length to cut off from the bottom of the keg? In the past doing this I've had them get clogged with hops residue, etc. Would cutting the tube help with this?

For secondary, you need not cut any, but if you do, only a 1/2 inch or so. Very little yeast should settle out over a few weeks so you pull a cloudy pint or two and then it will be clear.

why would you even secondary? just rack the beer to the keg and call it good. Are you doing primary in another keg?
