At the end of my brew day today, my probe thermo was off by 20 deg or so.
I don't know if using it in the brew kettle screwed it up or what.
I thought I read somewhere about heating it in the oven or something to fix it.
I guess the idea is to dry it out. Am I dreaming or do I just go get a new one?

Put the probe into the oven and heat to at least 350 and it will reset.

Trust me on this one.... :)
Just the probe - keep the plug end outside the oven (don't ask how I know). After about 30 mins it will likely work as good as new!

To follow up with what Biermuncher said, IIRC 20-30 min.at 350 should fix it. Then when the probe is reading correctly then you can fix the wetness problem by doing this...HomebrewTalkRocks!

I don't know if it actually works but I do plan on doing it at some point.

edit: Doh! I go to play in the rain and Yuri beat me to the second post.

Thanks, I'll have to give that a try... I had to buy a new thermometer right before I was ready to mash in as the one I had started giving me screwy readings.
