Hi this is my second time making Mead this time I went with more of a basic dessert mead everything was going well after fermentation and I started aging it. But now it has some kind of build up at the top is it okay? Both pictures are different bottles.

The first bottle looks like a primary that's done fermenting and starting to settle, the second looks like a secondary, both look fine! My ignorant rule of thumb is if it bubbles within a couple of hours of pitching, and I keep everything very clean when racking or bottling it will all be fine. Haven't ever had a mead go bad on me.

You said you started aging it - did you seal the cap? Because it seems like fermentation is not complete, so you should NOT keep that bottle sealed. Burp it. Fermentation was not complete. It looks perfectly normal though, give it time.

Good point, you'd hope they're under airlock otherwise there may be a mess brewing in the near future!
