This year I started a couple hops in containers with the plan on building a garden and transplanting them into it this fall. The pots were not alrge and frankly I probably did not take very good care of them this summer. They often got dry and went unfertilized.

Well move onto the end of August. They had produced a couple of cones and then wilted and all of the leaves/remaining cones are now completely brown.

Have I completely killed my roots? If I transplant them, as planned, will they regrow in the Spring or am I a killer?

Without a pic it will be hard to tell. I would plant them this fall and see what happens in the spring. Hops are an amazingly hardy plant and just may surprise you :tank:
