Hey all,

11 brews under my belt, which is expanding my belt... Anyways,

I batch primed for the first time on October 24th. 3oz dextrose for 17.5L.

I've been enjoying my stout about one a week and finally noticing OK carbonation after 3 weeks. The bottles have been resting at 66-68°F

Hoping I primed with enough dextrose to reach 2.0 for volume

Any ideas if tthey will improve?

I used the northern Brewer calculator and it gave me the 3oz for 2.0
Maybe I don't know what 2.0 feels like in the mouth, but the stout seems slightly under carbonated and doesn't produce a thick head.

Is 3 weeks at 66-68° long enough to fully carb or may it take longer?

2.0 vols is about typical for stouts. Three weeks at 70-72 is more optimal for conditioning, so give it another week or so and try another. BTW, do you chill the bottle for a couple days before opening? It takes a while for the CO2 to go back into solution.

2.0 is fairly flat feeling.

I typically throw in freezer for 20min then fridge until I drink within the next 30min

I've kept a couple in the fridge for a couple days, same result.

Should I cold crash the bottles for a week?
