After my triumphant failure brewing another Double IPA on Saturday, I want to get some feedback on this recipe/process before I buy the ingredients tomorrow. Here's the plan:

Dogfish Head 90 Inspired Double IPA

Grain/Extract:
8 lb DME
1.5 lb Munich Mat
1 lb Carapils
1 lb Two Row Pale

Hops:
2.5 oz Amarillo 90 min - Flame Out
0.75 oz Simcoe 90 min - Flame Out
0.5 oz Colombus 90 min - Flame Out

Yeast:
WL California V

OG: 1.090
FG: 1.023
ABV: 8.6%
IBU: 113

I plan on using 1.5 gallons of water for mashing my 3.5 lb of grain. I'll mash in at 155 or so and hold for an hour to an hour and 15. I will sparge with 1.75-2 gallons of water. I'll then add the 8 lb of extract, bring to a boil and begin the 90 minute hopping and boil.

Does this make sense? Any reason for this one to go belly up? I just want to double check this one with the vets to make sure. I checked the recipe with Tasty brew, but I just want that pat on the back. The reassurance of years of experience. Thanks very much! :D

I have a clone for that.....

16.5# Pilsner malt
1.66 # amber malt

2 oz amarillo hops
.62 oz Simcoe
.53 oz Warrior
all of these 90-0 minutes in boil

1 oz Amarillo
.5 oz Simcoe
.5 oz Warrior
all of these are dry hopped.

1 tsp Irish Moss (15 min)
Wyeast 1099 (Whitbread)

.75 cups corn sugar (Priming)

Mash in at 122 degrees, then raise the temp to 149 until conversion is complete. Mash out to 170. Boil the wort for 105 minutes.
Starting with 90 minutes left in the boil,
add in .25 oz of hops every 7.5 minutes.

Start Fermentation at 71 degrees and let raise to 74. Dry hop in secondary at 71 for 3-5 days, then cool to 32 degrees.

this makes 5 gallons,

OG 1.088
FG 1.021
ABV 8.7%
