I recently came across this link:
BREWER'S EDGE 40 QUART BREWKETTLE @ Williams Brewing

it's a 40 quart stainless kettle with valve. I currently have a cheap 32 quart stainless kettle with no valve. I'm looking to upgrade, both the size of the kettle and to a kettle with a valve. Any comments on this particular one? Any better deals out there?

Well, last year when I was wiring a restaurant, I got into a conversation with one of the co-owners, who was also the chef. I told him that I brewed, and was looking for a bigger pot for a(n) HLT. He frequented a lot of auctions, and said he'd watch out for some kettles for me. About a month later, he shows up with a 40 qt AND a 20qt, both stainless, for a total of $35, and a lot more heavy-duty than the ones at the HBS. Yay! Granted, I need to put in a ball valve, but I'll still come out ahead.

My point: Look around. There are deals to be had, if you are patient. A hundred bones is a lot to shell out for a pot, IMHO
