Firestone Walker X Three Floyds Ol Leghorn
Sweet. Boozy. Bitter. Oxidized.
Guy in my homebrew club has had this bottle stored in his fridge since purchase back when it was released, and realized he was never going to drink it by himself. So he gave me the bottle and asked me to drink it and give him a review. Beautiful color, no chunk or trub to speak of (so far), small lasting pure white head that dissipates quickly, big hop aroma, caramel, bready, boozy character, bitter and sweet, lots of malt character from toasted, caramel, bready, melanodin, still a big hop flavor as well, and alcohol on the back end.
Not great, but no where near as bad as I expected, and is going well with some Phish couchtouring this evening.
Cheers!
