Hey folks; rehabbing a kegerator that was gifted to me and the shank in the tower LOOKS like some coating has stripped away leaving brass exposed?

thanks for any thoughts. I’m having a hell of a time finding a photo of what it SHOULD look like.

Does this need to be replaced? Soaked it in PBW over night and it cleaned up great.

Thanks, my intent is to do carbonated water to start; and I’ve heard that brass and carbonated water are a bad mixture do to some reaction?

Suppose I have some parts to procure :)

Since this kegerator was gifted to you replacing the old with new is a smart investment. Stainless steel sharks and taps will last a long time. I have five Perlicks I bought twenty plus years ago that work great.

Do you, or anyone have any recommendations on shanks that are compatible with PERLICK faucets?

Everywhere I look all I see is that the shanks for towers from INTERTAP are not compatible, but I’m not really finding very many other options

These are exactly what I bought for my 525 Perlick faucets. They come in different sizes, lengths, so measure what you need. Mine fit perfectly in a 3/4" wood. You'll need a tail piece, nut and gasket for the back side.
