current thoughts on hop stand vs dry hop

I have been doing dry hop-only beers for several months now. I am wondering if there is any consensus developing on whether dry hopping is more effective than hop stands? I have been debating doing some more hop stands to see if I am mistaken in thinking the dry hop is all that is needed.
 
i don't dry hop at all anymore in the fermenter. i never really seemed to get anything out of it. i now hop pretty heavily at 170 for a 15-30 min rest and if appropriate i keg hop with leaf hops. this gives me a nice combo of flavor and aroma.
 
huh, weird. opposite of my past experience. i did get good hop stand flavor one time. i did an hour stand though.
