A thread with a similar question may be around somewhere, but I couldn't find one, so here it goes...
I play in a rec. (beer) ice hockey league. Our team is about to inaugurate our 3rd season and I want to brew and keg a beer for after the first game. Based on what I see a lot of the guys drink, I'd like to try something a little bit on the lighter side, but I don't have time to do a lager. Is it possible to brew a light-bodied ale (maybe using extra light dme, and some 2-row and rice hulls in a partial-mash) with Saaz hops that might close in some of the "beer" these guys are used to drinking. Kind of goes against my grain, but I guess the flip side of the coin is, how many guys are going to want to drink something more full-bodied after 3 periods of ice hockey?
Thanks, as always.
