In case it wasn't clear from this thread, people don't take kindly to newcomers just coming in and asking for something without first becoming part of the community. If you had been here for a while, contributed to a bunch of threads, did some nice things for others etc., and then asked, you would have gotten mostly honest, serious feedback. When you barge in and ask for a favor, this tends to be the response you get here.

I wouldn't call you beer enthusiasts. Just a bunch of people who get their jollys off talking **** over the internet... if you do not take kindly to new comers then what are you trying to accomplish? As for "spending time here" I have other businesses to look after and do not have time to sit around and "contribute" to multiple threads. As for the nice things for others, what do you want.. a handy? From my experience here in the past 4 hours and the **** this page and their members talk, you all can go **** yourselves.

Look, there are a lot of profiteers in the beer community that have come about in the last 5-10 years or so. It’s unfortunate that so many people involved are now people who are actually not interested in beer, but rather a way to profit from people who are. For you to come in with the purpose of market research, without actually wanted to participate in the community, is another example of someone who is just another profiteer.

And in all honesty, this community has a reputation for being extremely generous to members of the community. As others have said, you have to be a member of the community first though before asking for something.

And speaking of that, it’s giveaway time. Never done one of these before. Tag me and post a fail gif in this thread. I’ll pick a winner randomly on Wednesday night and ship you out a box of New Glarus (25th Anni, SR, ?), Central Waters (XX, Cassian, ?), and Funk Factory stuff (the recent saison release).

Newcomers are perfectly welcome - that's why there's a thread specifically for new people to introduce themselves and get acquainted with the site before diving right in and asking for favors.

You also just confirmed the belief most people have about those who ask of a community before contributing to it: you wanted "market research" without getting to know your audience.

I am trying to get some insight on a project I am putting together and hope you can help me out!
I am creating a Craft Brewery Swag Box and need some feedback:

Would you buy a subscription box full of swag from various breweries from across the US?

What would you expect to be in the box that is sent monthly/quarterly?

Would you like a box monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly?

How much are you willing to pay for a monthly/year subscription?

Is there something "sentimental" about getting your swag from breweries you've visited?

1. No stupid. If I wanted some ****** mass produced merchandise, I would just buy it from the source and not risk some fuckchop randomly sending it to me with one of those weird soft stretchy American Apparel shirts with 'Sam Adams' screen printed on the front.

2. Useless trinkets that the brewery couldn't pawn off on locals. You know, bottle openers in dumb shapes that aren't that effective, ugly flat brim hats because beer is so full of trend setters and probably an odd shaped snifter that will break in transit. Oh, and stickers. They ALWAYS send stickers.

3. I would like it not to exist. However, according to a quick google search, monthly seems to be the most popular choice. You may want to try some Google research before moving onto the "market research".

4. Again 20 bucks seems to be around average. I used Google. Jesus Christ, did an alligator steal all the internet in Florida?

5. Obviously. The frisbee I got from Cigar City is my most prized family heirloom, I'll be passing it on for generations telling my family the story about the one time I drank a pour of Invasion Pale Ale.

Sorry you cant afford to send your students to competitions cause you live on a low salary and your town doesn't have any money to help the youth.

I bet we raise more money for those kids then you make off of your ****** idea.

No, no I wouldn’t. People already send me enough of their random glassware, shirts, hats, bottle openers, etc. You’re business model would be great if someone’s wife/significant other already didn’t hate how many (in their minds dumb) items we already have.
