Could this work as an airlock?

I forget what these things are called, but I have a few of them. They're just replacements for corks. I know it won't work the same as an airlock since they show you how much Co2 has been generated, but would these caps at least prevent wine spoilage? or beer spoilage? Could these plastic and rubber parts be sterilized?

It won't work as an airlock.
It will work as a cork.

An airlock is designed to allow co2 to escape whilst stoping air getting in.
A cork is ment to stop co2 getting out and air getting in.

Like a friggin bottle rocket too. brew will spray everywhere, and you might dent the ceiling or walls.
