I am new to keging my homebrew. Before I go out and buy a keggerator I was thinking about just putting it in my fridge with a hand held tap. But the only way the keg will fit is if I lay it down on its side. Was wondering if this will work and have any side effect on the beer. Thanks

Won't work, the dip tube goes to the bottom and pulls from there, so if it's on its side you won't be able to pull beer once the keg is half empty. I'm sure there is some way to work around it by bending the dip tube, but probably much more of a pain than it's worth.

theres no problem with laying a keg on its side, other than you cant dispense it properly as mentioned. no issues just storing it like that.
