Have 2 new (used) corny kegs. Was cleaning one today with PBW and hot water and had it closed. Maybe a gallon of solution inside. When I turn it over the relief part leaks water. If it leaks water wouldnt it leak co2

Maybe time for a new lid?

There is no ring to pull up. It seems its been capped at the bottom?

You should be able to unthread the relief valve from the lid and replace just that.
Just did this same operation 2 days ago. Replace the PRV on the lid. The failing PRV had a threading issue and would no longer seat properly. Takes a few minutes to swap them out.

When you say there's no ring to pull up, does that mean it never had a ring and cannot be manually relieved? If so, I would get a new lid just to have this option. Otherwise, I would add a ring, and lube the sealing bits.

Here's a couple pics of lids. I'm envisioning the lid on the left as what you're talking about. If it's more like the one on the right, but modified, I would definitely try to get it back to stock.

Oh yeah, there are those too still around...

In case you have one of those lids with the PRV valve inside a dome,* you don't need to replace the lid if everything works fine. You can easily release keg pressure by pushing in the gas post poppet, with a small screwdriver or a "nail set" tool or such.

* The PRV valve unscrews from the bottom of the lid. You'll need a suitable diameter [correction] hex wrench square head wrench (not hex) to remove and reinstall it.

Sorry, it's been a while since I worked with those, I try avoiding the kegs that have those. ;)

They were mainly pin lock kegs that had the fixed pressure (emergency) prvs. Of course a lid like that could now be on either an originally ball lock keg or a pin lock modified to a ball lock. Originally pin lock kegs (Coke style kegs) are shorter and fatter with the keg posts at 10 and 2 o'clock. I too would consider replacing the lid if it had the fixed prv. However, that'll cost about $15+ to $30 if shipping. I'd consider the quality of an old pin lock keg carefully if it needed a new lid. I've ditched the old pin locks I had because they eat up floor space in my kegerator.

Yeah - the tops are very expensive. I would seriously consider getting a used keg at $35-40 bucks vs the ~$20 lid.

Yeah permanently closed. Looks like a plastic piece threaded into the bottom. I have 2 this way. New lids are 12.95 on Amazon.

I had a lid from another keg (pin lock) that I used for now.

I was going to convert the pin lock to ball but the connectors didn't work. I'm planning on buying 2 more used kegs as I need 3 being used and one for a spare.

Link please for the lid.

Do you mean the threaded keg posts when you say connectors? If so, the posts don't all have the same thread size. The threads on the new ball lock posts would need to match the threads on the current pin lock posts.
