none of the o-rings are silicone, so they're rubber. vaseline will eat rubber.

get some Keg Lube, or food safe silicone grease (its the same stuff)
 
I use keg lube and only use a small amount. Just enough to put a very thin layer on the O rings. If you have a leak I would inspect the O rings for any cracks or tears.
 
check your seals, lube doesn't hold pressure. it allows for easier install and remove, and helps from stretching or tearing your seals. if its not your seals then check the grooves they sit in. its possible to scratch the groove allowing the leak to occur behind the seal.
