cork sizes?

Has anyone tried the No. 7 corks that supposedly fit beer bottles?

I was looking to try making a batch of cheap wine. I'm not much of a wine drinker, so wine bottles are hard to come by. Do the #7's really work to cork up regular beer bottles?
