Hi,

I have more then enough decommissioned 3/4" copper gas pipe under the house. I'd like to use it to make an immersion wort chiller as buying 1/2" is expensive at the moment. I have two questions:

1. Is it safe to use for wort chilling?

2. Will it bend or split with a spring form pipe bender?

3. It requires some heavy duty cleaning. How should I do this? Should I do this before bending so the crust/crud does not get embedded into the copper?

Cheers,

Edge

Edit: it's actually gal pipe. Awww. Looks like I'll have to buy the copper.
