Hi,
I was given a second hand 5 gallon electrim boiler.
The heating element was very dirty (black and crusty) so I scrubbed it with a metal brillo pad. I think I did it too much as I have rubbed off some of the chrome plating and revealed some copper.
My dad advised me not to use it as he thought that some copper would dissolve during boiling, and could cause some poisoning.
It's only a little bit of copper revealed so I don't think it would be too much of a problem.
Any one got any advice?
Thanks
