Will there be any problems using sea water in a chillus convolutus copper counter flow chiller in stead of regular water? Or anything that Can be done to overcome posible problems?

My main problem is access to enough fresh water, only about 100 gallons, but about 400 gallons is required to cool 30 galllons to the right temp.

I don't think it would be a problem, copper will hold up just fine in salt water. If you are really worried about it you can flush it with fresh water when you are finished.

Thanks.. Hope it will work fine with flushing. A guy told me sea water crystalize at 68 degrees celsius, and could cause a build up inside the chiller, maybe keep the chiller below 68 by restricting the flow?

And should an anode be used anywhere before or after the sea water enter or exit through the chiller?
