wonder how something like that would do around here?

There is a place near Belmar NJ that lets you make wine and beer in their facility. One of my clients was really into it.

Friends of my parents were having marriage problems, and their counselor suggested doing something together, and they went to a winery in hopewell NJ. They were living seperately at the time, and of all the people to be interviewed by the newspaper, the got picked. They are back together now.

I would imagine it would work out in your area also.

I think this is the place my client went.

Yeah, I thought I had invented that once. I had a great epiphany one day about people being able to brew at a brewery, come back and pick up their beer. Then I found out about these BOP businesses.

I also thought I invented masturbation when I was 13....

A BOP opened here in HB about 10 years ago. We did about 5-6 batches the first year it was open. The owner was quite generous with the samples.

When you went in to bottle, you were allowed to take X number of bottles home. The rest of the batch had to be consumed on the premises... :mug:

Good times.

Too bad the beer was marginal. The water in here is pretty crappy and the recipes used a partial mash with corn syrup instead of LME.

There's still one in Huntington Beach now:

Dunno if it's the same place you were referring to.

I remember one opened up in Davis, CA when I was there, it lasted a whole couple of months... unfortunately I never got a chance to try it out...

The pizza, bread and pretzels here are pretty tasty. They even do kids party's. Kids get to make their own pretzels & root beer and then take a couple bottles of root beer home with them.

You can drop in there to have a few brews and eat pizza without having to do the BOP. I've never done BOP there, but they do use LME (at least now they do). If you drop by in the evening, the owner is usually trashed.:tank:
