Guys

I initially purchased a taprite dual body reg with 4 port manifold. Quickly realized I want to do different serving pressures. So I bought a dual body primary and was gonna sell the dual gauge. Can I just convert the dual gauge into a secondary? Would need to change the stem that connects to the tank out to a barb and maybe take off the gauge reading the amount of co2 in the tank?? Searched a bit and didn't see any answers.

Thanks

So, is there a "dual gauge regulator" and a "dual body regulator" here?

Actually, it doesn't matter. Whatever collection of primary regulators you have, none of them can become secondary regulators...

Cheers!

Although you could remove the CO2 connector from the single body, and the high pressure gauge from the dual body, and put a threaded nipple between them to create a 3 body regulator string. You may need left hand threads on the nipple, so you won't be able to buy it at Home Depot, etc.

The downside of doing this is that the longer the regulator chain gets, the more likely you are to damage it by bumping or other mishap.

Brew on :mug:

actually, I have a set of regulator bodies that are rated for secondary or primary use. They were made as secondary regulators, but have a maximum inlet pressure of 1800 psi, so for CO2, they can work for both primary or secondary, and I use them for both.

What you need to do is find the engineering specs for the regulator bodies. For mine, I was able to get an engineer to fax me the actual final specs and drawings of the particular model I had. Best of luck!
