Controlling a Chest Freezer

There's a couple of options, this is not the only device that will do it, there are other temperature controllers out there both digital and analog. You could also modify the thermostat in your freezer as shown in a recent post, but it's easier for most to just precisely control it with one of these.
 
There are cheaper controllers out there. You can build one. You can get analog versions that cost less.

Personally, I like the accuracy and control of my digital controllers.

I have two of those that I really love. I have a Johnson analog controller on my cold storage fridge, and it works fine because I don't rely on it being so accurate.

Oh, and hello fellow San Diegan. You will need temperature controls in the summer here, no doubt.
