composting spent fruit pulp

Do you mean, if you compost fruit and throw that compost on the hops, will the flavors from the fruit come out in the hops?
I hope not...I use a compost that includes cow manure!
In all seriousness, the flavors come from oils developed in the cone. Some believe that the composition of the soil influences the flavors of the cone but I've seen very little scientific evidence of it...though I have seen more on the influence of climate and insect pressure, both of which are regionally dependent.
If you are looking for a particular flavor to come from your hops, check the various databases out there until you find the hop you want. Or start a breeding program to get what you want...though that will take years and big $$$.
