I was just wondering, since everybody seems to share recipes on here, is it a taboo to enter someone else's recipe into a competition? If not, how much is it supposed to be changed?

I havent gotten my first into a bottle yet, I was just pondering this.

that's right... pondering.

I'd have to agree with that. One recipe, many brewers, many different beers.

method, especially in fermentation, changes a beer dramatically, so no two people with the same recipe will every produce the same beer.

in fact, no homebrew is really the same from one batch to the next.

but...there's something that would make me feel unsatisfied if i didn't at least modify a recipe to make it my own before i put it into competition...
