As I, and many of you all, endlessly peruse different forums about beer, I keep hearing reference to Columbus hops being piney. I don't really get it. When I've used Columbus hops I think resiny, herbal but not pine. Chinook and Simco yes, but never really gotten Pine from Columbus. I know this is all just subjective taste but am I crazy?

Most of the descriptions I see of columbus are pungent, dank, citrus. I get more of this along with some resin, rather than the pine.

Yup, I don't get pine. I get "dank", resin, and a little citrus. One of my favorite hops
