Just did my Hefewweizen and the estimated color was supposed to be 5.3 but it is a lot darker, around 15 or 17. Will it lighten up during fermentation or is this what it's going to be?
Do I need to add water? It's just a hair under 5 gallons with a SG of 1.043.

All grain Widmer clone
4lbs Pale Malt
4lbs Wheat Malt
1lb Munich Malt
.25lbs Carmel Crystal Malt - 40L

i wouldn't just "add water" It will clear up...there's a lot of sugar and stuff floating around...once it all settles it will clear up. I don't see anything in your reciepe that would keep it dark

as we like to say in these parts...RDWHAHB
