So I was thinking of clearing the next batch using gelatin.

But I'm also looking forward to collect the yeast after bottling.

Does the use of gelatin (to clear the beer), affect the usability of the yeast?

i would say it must because when i use gelatin it leaves a thick goo at the bottom of the kegs. if that was mixed in a yeast cake it definately wouldnt be as viscous as usual. you should rack off the yeast then use the gelatin in the keg or secondary . i dont think you could wash gelatin out of yeast cake and i wouldnt want it in my next batch cause it doesnt look pleasant and i wouldnt want to think i am drinking that in future batches.

Could I transfer the beer to another container (not bottles) and then use the gelatin in this?

After clearing, I could bottle?

And I could collect the yeast from the fermentor after transferring the beer?

I collect yeast after using gelatin and for several generations I have not had a problem.

I do keg. Not sure, but don't think bottling would make any difference.
