hey again,
ive built a collar for my keezer from treated timber.. the treated timber has a distinct smell about it..

is there a chance the smell could be affecting the flavour of my brew? absorbed through the vinyl hose?? perhaps??

If you use thick (1/8") walled beverage line, I doubt the smell will penetrate it, but it is possible, give it long enough time.
Maybe paint the inside, like a sealant?

What does it smell like? Do you think that smell will dissipate over time, or is it bound to stay?
One of our neighbors had a new wooden fence put up. The wood has a clear, kinda oiled look to it. But when you get anywhere near that house it smells like a dank damp cellar, even from 50' away. Frankly, I don't know how they can stand it.
