Coleman Extreme5 mash tun

Afternoon all,

The Coleman Extreme 5 50 qt cooler looks like it would make a great mash tun, but the drain is at an angle.

Has anyone used this cooler before, and how did you address teh angled drain?

The barbed fitting on the 3/8 inch valve will hit the surface of the table if not at edge to hang over. The coupling on teh inside will stick up causing a potential aigap in stainless braided hose when draining.

Thoughts?

I used a brass nipple, a cpvc coupler and cpvc pipe. you can see my manifold design in this thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/wort-chiller-cpvc-manifold-178279/ and the 4-5 inch piece that connects to the couple bends to flow with the drain.
