I'm thinking of cold crashing a couple of BB's of Amber Ale in the garage. We are expecting lows in the low teens for the next few nights.

Will that be too cold? I really don't want to have my beer freeze.

If I put the bottles on a table, and wrap them in towels, will they freeze?

I wonder if one night at about 15*F (it will be in the single digits outside) will be enough to drop out the yeast (US-05)?

Also, will it cause the bottles to freeze? They will be going from about 65*F.

remember that it takes a while to change that much liquids temp. Plus if it is 15 outside, it's not going to be 15 in your garage unless you leave your garage door open all night ;)

I think you will be find leaving it in the garage.

It was 12*F this morning, but a balmy 35 in the garage between the better bottles. So, it looks like it worked fine.

Probably will keg the brew tonight after work.

:rockin:
