I made a big starter , I took 1 pack of wyeast 1388 and made a starter of
1-ltr with .040 , After 48 hrs I split the 1-lter and now I have 2-lter in two separate containers , I did not use stir plate but I shake the living daylights out of um every time I walk by .

Question : Is 24 hrs enough time to get some of the liquid off the top of the yeast so I do not pitch 2-ltrs into my 5 gallon batch ?

I decide to pitch the 2 litters into 5 gallon , I assume that chilling and descending the yeast its a little to late .

But ! QUESTION : I am still concernd if how I made my starter is Ok ? , I did the normal 1-lter in a .040 for 48hrs , Then i split into 2-.040 starters for 48hrs , so in total my yeast has been growing for 96hrs
