I'm in the midst of my first coffee stout and I had a question about exact numbers.

I plan on cold-brewing some espresso....Then doing a 1:1 ratio with water and the espresso...Letting that sit for 24 hours and adding as I take the beer to the secondary.

My question is, what is the exact volume of total liquid I should be shooting for here? I was ball-parking a litre....I just wanted to see if anybody had an opinion on the matter.

A liter of water is a lot. That will dilute your beer quite a bit, when I have done coffee stout I only at 2 cups to a cup and a half of cold brewed coffee, It depends how much coffee flavor you want. A little really does go a long way in this situation. I do not have my notes in front of me, but when I get home I can tell you how many ounces of coffee I added to the water.

The flavor was very pronounced might even tone it down some next time.
