I've been reading quite a bit, though not possibly all. It's clear there's a nitrogen problem when making mead from honey. Though this is unlikely to be new coconut nectar is milked from the scored flower of the coconut palm, boiled down and made into a sugar full of nitrogen and other nutes.

Nitrogen (N) 2020 compared to 100 with brown and 0 with refined.
And at a price point that won't damage the wallet too much more than a fine dark honey will. 55lb. @ 3.93 per pound with shipping.

Though a solo batch would nay be advisable due to other nutes(list on wiki), as an addition it could be a useful tool but with a caramel flavor.
