CO2 tanks

I have a question about CO2 tanks. Can you put these on their sides? I use O2 tanks at work and they are pretty much always on their sides, but they are also gas not liquid as CO2 is. Just thinking of ways to maximize my space in the freezer.

No, you should not. If you get liquid CO2 in your regulator it can freeze the seals and damage it. Anytime the tank was more than half full of liquid, the regulator would be sucking up nothing but liquid. It's the same problem paintball players run into - if you're using a regulator with a CO2 tank which is horizontal, you really need to be using an anti-siphon tube - which is probably not something you want to go installing in a bulk tank.
