I heard a very small his sound when dealing with my kegerator today. I've been carbing up a beer at 20 PSI. I got out my starsan bottle and found it was coming from a very weird spot, around the rubber housing on the top, not from any gaskets, the o-ring or the posts. Attached is a picture of where the bubbles were coming from.

Is there anything that can be done? Or am I probably out a keg?

Here's a video as well: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxOSO7a2-kIgZFNyRDZ4NG5oN2s/edit?usp=sharing

I've tried keg-lubing up my posts and putting them back on, no change. But I don't think my posts could even be involved as they connect above the rubber housing anyway.

Holy ****!!!

I had the same thing yesterday, in almost the exact same spot! I changed every gasket, because I couldn't figure it out. Nope. Still leaked. At first I thought the dip tube o-ring went bad, and the gas was mysteriously traveling from the bottom of the post and somehow under the rubber. I eventually cut away the rubber... and it's a pin hole in the body. Now I have 2 keezer line cleaners I guess. :-(

I don't know how it happened. No corrosion. Just a pin hole. Weird.

If you recently purchased it, I'd return it.

Thanks, I was afraid of that

I'm contacting ontariobeerkegs, however, i'm almost at 60 days in with this and their warranty is 30 days.

I wonder if it might be possible to take that section of rubber off and use some kind of solder, weld, or epoxy to seal it back up if it's as small of a hole as I suspect. I have no idea how it could have gotten there though, the kegs haven't been through much and the rubber is right there to protect them.

It's weird to see the same leak!

I'd contact them for sure. They'd probably be pretty stumped as to why it happened too.

Did you buy a used keg from them, or was it new? Mine was used when I bought it, but I used it for three different beers with no problem.

I had a pinhole leak at the base of the post terminal on one of mine that was manifesting as coming through the rubber like that.

I peeled away the rubber, located the pinhole, scuffed it up, and hit it with some SupCo RedEpoxy that I had leftover from a refrigerator evaporator repair. I didn't see the pinhole anywhere inside, and it was on the gas post, so I wasn't worried about it being food safe or not.

The keg holds pressure again, and I have no problems with it other than you can tell where the rubber had been cut and peeled up. I tried to stick it back down with the epoxy, but it's not perfect.

Any updates on this?
I was cleaning and sanitizing a keg, and noticed a seep, ( re: bubbles), coming from under the edge of the rubber.

Have not tore into it yet.

I usually seat the lid as best as possible by hand, then crank the pressure to 60lbs. This usually seals everything for me, let me know if it helps you.

Yeah that keg is done unless it can be repaired some how. return it if you can or use it as a primary fermentor.

You could probably get a local welder to tack it for you. Should be a quick and simple job. He might even do it for free, or a couple brews. I know I would.
