I just found a bottle that seem ideal for a single pour of wine, mead, or high gravity beer. They take a standard pry off crown cap but do require a bench capper. They are $2.50 for a six pack filled with an espresso soda from Italy at Grocery Outlet (a local discount store). I even find the soda drinkable although a bit sweet. Keep your eyes peeled for Frizz Coffee, I got them at a price where I was willing to dump the soda but it might be nice to have a few bottles even if you have to buy them at full price (probably around $1.50 each).

Pictured with a stubby 12oz bottle.

those are awesome. i use coronita bottles (7oz) but i like those even better. unfortunately i'm on east coast - may never see them. anytime i bottle beer (which is rare now) i bottle a six pack or so in smaller bottles to sample during ageing.

Try using the link from my first post in the thread. It showed them for sale at all sorts of places I wouldn't have thought to look.

They've got a paper label that comes off easily too unlike the coronaitas.
