Look at bazooka screens. Some people use these for this purpose. It'd be a similar idea.

With any beer that is hoppier though, I think you're in for a mess. I can imagine they'd get gummed up pretty quick.

I wouldn't worry too much about some of it getting into your fermenter. It will settle out with the trub eventually. Just try to not grab every last drop of wort from the kettle.
