I saw at a local grocery store 2 gallon jugs of organic Apple cider, can I just dump that on top of my fresh yeast cake left over from my mead?

Do I need to add something else to it?

If you can't tell I have never made a cider before. I have made several Meads, no I got brewing basics.

Thanks already!

I think the only thing to be aware of would be that the yeast may be fairly stressed (or dead) if the gravity of the mead was high.

I'm not too worried about the yeast being dead, maybe a little stressed. Only one way to find out.
Anything I can do to help it out? I think I got some fermax that I can add.

I check the label to see what's in it, didn't think to look at what's all in it.

Thanks guys

you can add a spoonful of yeast nutrient. and if you want a higher alcohol cider you can throw in some sugar. and you can always add a bit of pectic enzyme, won't do the yeast any favors but might make a clearer cider, mine without it have always cleared in time
