Needed to use a hair dryer to warm it up. Is this typical? Think it was 1 or 2 degrees out in garage. Am I hurting pump by using it in these temps?

It's a new pump and I just assembled a RIMs tube. Never used a pump before and I don't want to destroy it before I brew my first beer... or ever for that matter.

Thanks.

-it is working after 15 minutes with the hair dryer on it

I had the same problem. Now I just keep it inside the house until I need it.

You gotta call the electric company and order warmer electric.

I suspect that at those temps it effects the clearance tolerances of the mechanisms and may also make the lubricants too viscous.
