Hey guys so I was going for a chocolate oatmeal cookie taste. Any thoughts?
Pale 9 lbs
Chocolate 8 oz
Black 4 oz
Crystal 40L 8 oz
Crystal 90L 6 oz
Roasted 8 oz
Flaked Oats 2 lbs
Brown Sugar 8 oz
Cocoa Powder 8 oz
Galena 0.75 oz (60 min)
White Labs British Ale
Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon (primary)
Was gonna toast the oats until they start to smell like cookies like what randy mosher suggested. Mash around 154 for 60 mins, double batch sparge, 1 hour boil, 5 gallon batch. I was thinking of cold steeping the roasted barley in the sparge water before heating it but I'm back and forth on it. Any suggestions or tweaks?
