Was at the LHBS and could pass this up. $80... I couldn't buy the parts for $80 (if I used the pump they use) and build it myself.

This thing is badass. It moves TONS of water! I am running PBW through a keg fresh popped to see how it does.

Your title was the same thing my wife said to me when she got home today. It wasn't homebrewing supplies, unfortunately.

I might be moving to Gavelston this spring... I think Houston is pretty close... any good LHBS or homebrew clubs in the area?

It is about 45 mins away. We have Defalcos and Keg Cowboy. Both are great and between the two can get everything you need. Keg Cowboy has a walk in cooler with the freshest grains in town. Defalcos has more of a selection and higher end products. Two different approaches but good given both aims at the market. The Foam Rangers are the only one I know of. I don't frequent clubs (yet) so I really can't say.

$80 bucks, was it used? Mark's Keg Washer is charging $149 + $15 S&H to purchase it directly from them...

You may also purchase Mark’s Keg Washer directly from us under the “Purchase Online” tab. The price is $149 plus $15 for shipping in the continental US.

Can you post some details on the materials used in this? I've seen threads where guys build their own units similar to this. I found some additional pics, and if that's the pump, on the bottom, it isn't much larger than an aquarium pump. Specific details would be very useful.
I did find this:
Pump specs: 700 gallon per hour, 65 watts, 1.5 amps (at 115v)

nice! as i was scrolling the picture into view i momentarily though that you had bought one of those leaky inverted fermenter gadgets.

The closest LHBS to Galveston (that I know of) is Brewer's Guild. http://www.brewersguild.net/

Defalco's is in Houston, but it's a good hour from Galveston.

As far as clubs go...

There are the Bay Area Mashtronaughts (closest to Galveston)

and the Foam Rangers (Houston) http://www.foamrangers.com/index.phtml

Edit... Also if you're moving to Texas... check out the Lone Star Circuit http://lonestarcircuit.com/ It's a compilation of all of the State-wide homebrew competitions.
