I've found a number of threads about cheap honey, usually several years old, talking about honey prices. Some people have said they found it as cheap as $1.50 a gallon!

The cheapest two options I have found so far are:
1) $2.60/lb at Costco, in 5lb containers ($12.99 each)
2) $2.36/lb at Cash & Carry, but you have to buy a case of six 5lb containers for $71. Individually, price same as Costco.

Threads have recommended I try local honey sources - the ones I found via honeylocator.com are all significantly more expensive than Costco.

I'm looking to buy 15-20 lbs of honey for meadmaking, and would prefer to spend as little money as possible. Which pretty much makes ordering online out of the question.

Suggestions? Please only respond if you live in Washington!
