Got a NB kit (AK47 Pale Mild) but it seems kinda weak to me. Don't get me wrong, it has probably good qualities and characteristics and is a tried and true recipe for decades. I just want more...? more...? MORE!

Ingredients are: 3#'s Mnton's plain light DME
1# corn sugar
.5#'s Simpson's caramalt
1 oz Fawcett Pale chocolate
1 oz KG (.75 at 60 min & .25 at 15 min)
11g Windsor brewing yeast

I am adding 3#'s Munton's plain amber DME and 1 oz Cascade.

What do you think about the finished product? I will have more abv for sure (maybe 5%) but will figure it all out on my calculator app. Anyone here ever double the ferment angles and hops (he asked them knowingly! Wink wink, nudge nudge)? It's my first attempt at such a drastic change of the kit.

Original specs are as follows:

OG- 1.037. New additions: 1.062
FG- 1.010. 1.016
ABV- 3%. 6.1%
SRM- 7 . 14
IBU's- 11. 16

Popped in the yeast starter (which looked extremely active btw) and closed up the primary! I am very excited about this effort and will let everyone know how it ends up after conditioning.

Oh yeah, going to add some peppers to this batch! Always liked the chili beers I've tried.

Thoughts?

Nobody advised on your question. Bummer! I just bought this kit, and I also thought it looked weak. How did yours turn out? Did adding to it cause problems?
