- Showcases the flavour of cascades but also has nice malty background.
Everybody gives me a strange look when I say I don't like cascades all that much so I thought I'd give a full on American IPA a try and see how I like it. Well I really do and this one will definitely be made again soon.
It has all the great cascade flavour you would expect and a really nice malty/toasty malt flavour from the Vienna and Munich malts. The caramel flavour from the carastan (crystal 60L) is present but you have to be looking for it.
The next time I make this I'm going to try some US-05. I don't expect any difference in flavour but it will keep to the theme of the recipe.
Carbonate to 2 volumes.
