Thinking about moving to using a carboy cap and my stainless racking cane to siphon using CO2. Does anyone leave the cap and cane in for the full fermentation? Essentially, keep the cane in the cap and put on after pitching? Then when ready to siphon, I can remove the blowoff tube from the angled port and hook up my CO2 line. This way the cane and tubing off of it is already purged and ready to go for when you want to rack it to the keg. Thoughts?
