I just kegged my EPA and Irish Dry Stout this evening. I've been doing some research while the kegs are sitting at 30psi for the first 24 hours. I trying to find out what the correct PSI should be for these beers. I'm thinking 2.0 vols for the EPA and 1.8 for the stout should be about right. The confusing thing is, my fridge is set to 33 F and all the charts say I should have my CO2 at 1.9 and 3.9 psi. Is that realistic? Do I risk leaks at that low of a pressure?

I realize my fridge is set way too low, but I have a broken thermostat that needs replacing, but I haven't found time.

Any advice from someone who's been here before?

That's what I did use to calculate my pressure. When I enter 1.8 vols of CO2, and a Keg Temp of 33 F, the recommended keg pressure is 1.9 psi. That just doesn't seem realistic. Or maybe the process is that efficient at a lower temperature, but I don't think the keg will seal correctly without at least 5 psi or even higher.
