Hi thanks for reply its the coopers canadian blonde and it came with the coopers enhancer 2 and the coopers carbination drops if that helps cheers

thanks - trying to find an online description of the ingredients. Nothing really popping up. What does it come with? By all accounts, it is indicating that an additional kilo of fermentable sugar is necessary. To that end, I would lean toward the lightest DME you can find. Half and half with DME and corn sugar will be fine too.

What is the yeast? What is the expiration date on it?

The Coopers Enhancer #2 is the extra kilo of fermentable sugar, consists of 500g dextrose,250g maltodextrin,& 250g of light DME.

OK so stick with the enhancer. Maltodextrin is not fermentable, so probably a reason for it. Also good idea to do first batch as close to what manufacturer intended - can't know where to go until you know what it tastes like. It may be perfect as-is, may stink.

Yeast first - it needs to be happy. Depending on how long it has been packaged, you may wish to replace it. What is the yeast that came with the kit

Hops - kind of the same, may be too old or not packaged well. If uncertain, replace with equal quantity of Styrian Golding. Solid hop and appropriate for the style. Really can use anything, but not knowing hop schedule, this will be a pretty even swap for a better hop. Liberty and Willamette would also be good choices for an even swap.

If it's your first time or two, then stick with what the recipe says to do. In the meantime while it's becoming beer, you can read here and other places about different ways to make beer.

If you see some process or something that you might want to try in a future kit or even go all out on your own, then you'll have some base experience with the kits made as the recipe called for to compare with.

Yes, if you go to the brew store, you should buy some more yeast specific for more alcohol. Also, you should use more sugar, since you are planning to get the maximum amount of alcohol out of it.
